Dawn Doesn't Stay

This project is a poem I wrote in my high school creative writing class. It was created for an assignment where we had to write a poem using a randomly generated group of words, and I later submitted it to DePaul’s Blue Book: Best American High School Writing, where it was recognized as an honorable mention.

When writing this piece, I focused on descriptive imagery and I used figurative language and careful word choice to build up the setting. A key creative decision was emphasizing the general idea of contrast. This made it interesting as the final product is very up to interpretation and it could be applied to many points of my life. The final poem effectively creates a strong sense of atmosphere and emotional progression.

It met my goal of completing the assignment, working on my descriptions and creating a meaningful piece.

Let’s Work Together

I’m currently seeking opportunities to gain hands-on UX experience and contribute to meaningful, user-centered projects.
